Two Bowl Pairs, best of 3 sets, 7 shots up
G.Kelly & W.McCaw, PTIBC
v D.Livingstone & J.Caldwell CAIBC

What a game, it went into a third set and from 4-0 down the Livingstone/Caldwell pair pulled back to level the match at 6-6 to to effectively take the game to a one end tie-break. To get them there James had a precision draw with game against.
In the deciding end it was Russian roulette by the ever gambling Kelly & McCaw combination. The game looked to be going to the County Antrim duo as they lay two shots but Willie the wizard conjured up an excellent running bowl to ditch the jack and lie shot. He followed it up with a draw finishing one and a half feet from the ditch for game. A titanic finish that had the crowd rivetted.

7-2, 5-7, 7-6 over twenty two ends not including six ends that were 'burned'

Last end cliffhanger!

Pairs
J.Henry & I.McCLure PTIBC
v N.Mulholland & J.Baker CAIBC

22 - 14
Disappointment again for the name that is Jim Baker. The Portrush duo set up a final against fellow pairing from PTIBC with a count of seven followed by a four after trailing for the majority of the game

National Singles
P.McEwan BIBC v D.Corkill BIBC

19 - 21
What a gripping game. McEwan was lying game with the head seemingly in his favour until Corky rolled back the years and pulled out an absolute peach of a bowl to draw shot. Only a handful of bowlers in the country could have produced such a shot under pressure but the commentator proved that all that watching from the box is reaping dividends in his twilight years.

National Singles
B.Thompson CAIBC
v G.Kelly PTIBC

20 - 21
A marathon match with sprinter Thompsonin the final end drawing to the ditch with game agaiunst after Kelly had ditched the jack. Killer Kelly then produced a classic drawing to the lip of the ditch to take the game in the battle to see which one of the two would play in three finals.

Singles
C.Gilmore PTIBC
v S.Colvin PTIBC

20 -21
Yet another gem of a game that went the full distance with Simon winning the final end to set up another all PTIBC final.
